Non-Insured Services

The Clinic would like to bring to the attention of patients seeking care through the Veridian Wellness Clinics the limits of services provided by BC MSP and the acknowledgement that there may be services which the patient would like to access which are not covered under BC MSP, called “uninsured services.” In cases where the patient requests or the staff of the Veridian Wellness Clinics deem that an uninsured service(s) is(are) suitable, the Veridian Wellness Clinics will inform patients of any associated fee, and only if the patient and the staff of the Clinics both agree to such fees will the patient be charged for the uninsured services.

Please refer to the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC on the above issue:

“MSP covers most medical fees for services provided by your physician, however, there are some medical services (referred to as uninsured services) that may not be covered by MSP or other insurers. Examples of uninsured services include the completion of certificates and forms, tests required for employment or driving a motor vehicle, and elective cosmetic procedures.” For your reference, please see the following: https://www.cpsbc.ca/public/public-resources/what-expect/charging-uninsured-services

If you are insured under BC MSP or other Canadian provincial health insurances (except Quebec), you will NOT be billed privately for services that are insured by applicable Canadian provincial health insurances. Private billing will apply only when the service is not insured by BC MSP or other provincial health insurance.

APPOINTMENT LATE CANCELLATION & NO-SHOW POLICY

Missed appointments are not insured services under BC MHA, and patients are responsible for missed appointments or late cancelation. There is a strict late cancellation/no show fee policy in place at Veridian Wellness Clinics. Please note that by booking and agreeing to an appointment with the clinicians of the Veridian Wellness Clinics, you are agreeing to the late cancellation & no-show policy. If you DO NOT agree with the policy, please DO NO proceed with booking an appointment with The Veridian Wellness Clinics.

It is our policy at Veridian Wellness Clinics  that a 48-hour (excluding weekend and statutory holiday hours) notice must be given in order to cancel or change the patient's appointment time. Patients can cancel or change the appointment by email to the clinic. If you were referred, then you would have received email communications from Veridian Wellness Clinics, and can communicate with us through email.

Please see the following late cancellation/missed appointment fee schedule, which is subject to change without notice:

  • $400 for a 30-minute initial standard consultation appointment

  • $400 for a 50-minute individual follow-up appointment

  • $200 for a 25-minute individual follow up appointment

  • $200 for a group medical visit appointment

If a missed-appointment or late cancellation fee is incurred by the patient, the Clinics will provide the patient with instructions on how to make the payment. Patients with pending missed appointment fees must clear the missed appointment fee in order to book another appointment.

In the case that the patient incurs a missed-appointment or late cancellation fee, and does not honor and clear the incurred missed-appointment or late cancellation fee, the patient will be discharged back to thereferring physician.

Please refer to the position of College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC on missed appointment fee:

"Can you be charged for a missed appointment?

You may be charged for a missed appointment only if your physician has warned you about this in advance and has a cancellation process in place."
